Details about in what habitat and country you found it would probably help people identify it :)

Very much a common Violet. I have them all over my yard, amongst the dandelions, Lily of the Valley, wild mustard, pursilane, english ivy, a dozen different ...ahem...wild flowers...and the occasional blade of that skinny green stuff they grow on golf courses.

It's very much a violet.

Smell it - If you're lucky it's a real violet and not an odourless 'dog' violet.
The smell of violets is wonderful - ours are just coming into flower.  The smell will fade a couple of minutes after picking though.

That's some type of violet, they grow like weeds around my house (southern USA), and BTW, they're edible.

Oh, almost forgot to mention, they come in different colors. White, purple, and a mix between the two. They may have other variations, but those are the ones I've seen.

Its a Violet. That one looks a little wilted, but its an ordinary Violet.

I'm going to guess Wood Violet, which is the state flower of Wisconsin.
