Now that it's becoming summer and it gets hotter and hotter, here's a question. Do you take a hot shower so that when you come out everything else feels cool or Do you take a cold shower so when you come out of the shower you're cool? Vote and explain!

From my inbox:The annual Perseid meteor shower peaks on Tuesday, August 12th. The best time to look is during the dark hours before dawn on Tuesday morning when forecasters expect 50 to 100 meteors per hour. Get away from city lights if you can; plan a camping trip! The darker the sky, the more meteors you will see. The source of the Perseids is Comet Swift-Tuttle, which has littered the August portion of Earth's orbit with space dust. The dusty zone is broad and Earth is already in its outskirts. As a result, even before the peak on August 12th, you may see some "early Perseids" streaking across the night sky. Photos of these early arrivals will be featured in the days ahead on Spaceweather.com as part of our full coverage of the Perseid meteor shower.Being on holiday, I will be spending most of the shower either under city lights or in the wettest (and hence cloudiest) part of Britain, and unable to lay out large tarpaulins to catch rainwater. So, I won't be able to go fishing, or get time out to watch them. I wonder - will you?EDIT: I have, as predicted seen nothing. Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain ...

Almost everyone will be excited about planning a great party. There is huge expectation when it comes to hosting baby shower parties also. There are many kinds of parties which you can attend. However there are some elements which are essential to make the party a success. There are hundreds of baby shower ideas for dummies online. You must first of all know what events will find a place in a baby shower party. These ideas must also be heartfelt. The first important baby shower tip for dummies is with respect to the venue of the baby shower. For this baby shower idea you can take the advice of friends and family who have conducted such events lately and will have all the information. You can also search for information from hotels, restaurants etc where events are sometimes held or you can also find details from the local community center. You can also host the party in the form of an outdoor garden party.Baby Shower

Hi all, The metal casing connecting the shower head to the tap has come away. The rubber tubing is still in perfect condition, with no leaks. What sort of product could I use to rejoin the two pieces of metal? I've included a (lowres) picture to clarify things a bit. Many thnaks in advance! Jason

Once every few weeks, the shower decides to alternate between hot and cold water. When it starts to spray cold water, the water flow is reduced first, then a few seconds later, it turns cold. It goes back warm a few seconds later. This has happened several times in the past month. Any solutions?

I'm moving into an apartment that has a bathtub, but no shower, hence no shower curtain. However, there is a handheld shower attachment that could be used to convert it to a shower. But to use it as a shower, I'd prefer to have something to keep water from going everywhere. The tub is in a corner of the bathroom, so I'd need a curved or L-shaped shower rod to fully enclose the bathtub. My landlord won't allow me to make any holes in the walls, so I'm kind of stuck.

How to make baby shower favors?
I've been trying to do some research before purchasing a shower water softener, as our water is unbearably hard. It drys out the skin and promotes clogged pores. The problem is... i'm not exactly sure what to look for. There's so much info out there on such a seemingly simple topic, and i'm having a little bit of trouble digesting it all. I'd appreciate it if anyone could give me the quick and dirty version of what i need to look for in one of these things. Thank you!

For years I have been a fan of taking cold showers, especially in the winter when the water is very cold. But in the summer, the water is not all that cold. Does anyone know, any information, on how to chill the shower water?

I need to know what to call the piece of threaded pipe that comes out of the shower wall a little above head height. It's the pipe that I screw the shower head onto. This has got to be an easy question for someone here.

From my inbox this afternoon: GEMINID METEOR SHOWER: This weekend, Earth will pass through a stream of debris from extinct comet 3200 Phaethon, source of the annual Geminid meteor shower. Forecasters expect more than 100 meteors per hour to fly out of the constellation Gemini when the shower peaks on Dec. 13th and 14th. For most observers, the best time to look will be from 10 pm local time on Sunday night to dawn on Monday morning. Visit http://spaceweather.com for photos, a sky map, and live audio from a meteor radar. Sounds like a chance to arrange a unique Christmas gift for a loved one. Update: I've done a bit more reading about the Geminids, and they may not be suitable for collection by magnets. It seems they are the rocky remains of a dead comet, so lack metallic iron. However, I have added a map so you can work out where to look.

Hello everyone, I have an issue with our families upstairs shower. When I turned the shower on this morning it seemed that the cold water was very low on pressure, luke warm was normal, and hot water was also very low. The sink was working just fine. I was walking around the house and all other sinks, appliances and showers were working just fine. There are no pipe bursts to my knowledge. Does anyone have any idea what on earth is going on?

My sister is having a baby and we are throwing her a baby shower in June for about 40 people. We want to have some unique shower favors, and I know that someone out there has the perfect idea. DIY items are preferred over something bought in the store because it is fun to make it yourself and can be personalized! Thanks!

I'm planning in remodeling my bathroom and always liked pebbles or nature motives to do so. What you recomend? I going to get rid of a bathtub and putting a shower instead, because I always had limited space, maybe 6' x 10' square feet. Give me creative and cheap ideas!

I am planning and researching ideas on creating a DIY digital shower system. The idea is to have an android device (Tablet, or old galaxy SII phone for now) installed along with an ardruino or some hardware interface to control the plumbing. I would also like to use the android device for music weather etc. in the shower, but all that is built in. The only puzzle with the android device is getting it to interface with the hardware, and waterproofing it while still keeping the touchscreen functionality. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Muriatic acid is a strong cleaner. If it his the tub, will it cause damage?
I am planning a baby shower for my friend and we are expecting about 50-100 co-ed people. We already have a place picked out and now all the details need to be planned. Please comment if you have any stories that you would like to share about a baby shower that you attended or hosted where things went wrong and how you think the "fails" could have been prevented or avoided. Post any definite no, nos! To add to that, if anyone has any success stories about baby showers that they have been to, please share what made them great. I still need great game, food, and center piece ideas for a large group. Post any must have's! The theme is underwater and we would like to have as many cheap and environmentally friendly things as possible.

I am in need of an o-ring replacement for an unidentifiable bathroom faucet shower diverter. Unidentified probably means Chinese. And these things often have no product replacement parts. I am sure there must be a way to make a replacement either out of rubber or silicone either by 3D printer or some kind of mold. I would appreciate any kind of help - either someone with a 3D printer who could make one or a mold for silicone or melted rubber. I don't mind paying for this as I'm sure it would cost considerably less than replacing the whole magilla. I'm thinking of the kind of rubber used for bottle stoppers that empty air from wine bottles; or some way to make this o-ring. The dimensions are in the attached images. I an furnish more images if necessary and contact info.
