Alright everybody, I have a project that requires aluminum rods that will fit together. Does anyone know of a place like mcmaster, in the sense that you can pick and choose your sizes and grades but with a quality that is not industrial? McMaster is just too expensive when looking at aluminum rods. Also, what grade of aluminum do all you DIYers find is the best for multipurpose use? All help is appreciated

As you may be aware, your reflection in a mirror appears to be behind the mirror. But, where is a rainbow? The Sun is over your shoulder, the cloud of raindrops is in front of you, but what is the apparent location of the rainbow? Is it between the observer and the water droplets, in the same location as the water droplets, or behind the water droplets (from the POV of the observer)? Or is it at some indefinably infinite location? I should know this... (a sketched-out ray diagram would be greatly appreciated)

Where did everyone start with modding and building of electronics? This stuff blows my mind away, and I wanted to start getting into building things, but there are instructables that basically say "have experience before attempting this project". Are you all electrical engineers or just hobbyists who worked with circuit boards for years and just know this stuff? Any fun begineer tech instructables or books to read about circuits or working with chips like Arduino? Thanks everyone, just trying to learn!

I want to make some specific bookmarks with this... but I can only find the metal clip part in one place, and they're a bit pricier than I like. If that's what I have to do, it's what I have to do, but can anyone help me find the clip, or even the name of what I'm looking for?

I am 22 from SE Asia, I am working as a programmer. A self-taught guitar player, that loves building project on electronics and wood work. I have been contemplating of moving out from my country, maybe in the next 2-3 years, but I am not sure where and what skills should I keep on improving if I want to emigrate to another country. What skills that I have now or I don't have should I improve or learn to be able to financially support myself in another country. Thank you for any advice or insight you can give.

I know that the USA, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, UK, Australia, and New Zealand are all represented on Instructables. What other countries are represented? Are we in all seven continents? (give or take Antarctica, since only scientists and penguins live there). How many of the states of the USA are here? What's our membership by country? Is our membership only limited to earthbound beings, or do we have any astronauts or other in the ranks? Are all of our members even human? You have answers, post 'em. Just put something like "Texas, USA, here", or "Gusev Crater, Mars, here".That way we know where we're at After that, plot your location on the membership map.

This is actually my first post in anything (forums or the actual site). You guys mention a upcoming book in the group's intro, coming out in September of 2007. Well here it is in December and no book. Has it fallen through? Are you looking for a new publisher, cause I've notice that Reaganbooks hasn't had anything new in months. Plus, I've also noticed that the forums (for HSC) haven't been updated in over a year.

I'd like to try to upgrade the RAM in my desktop. it was used when i bought it and frankly i feel like i'm really kicking bill gates and sergey brinn right in the balls when i make this thing last me another year or two. so, i'd like to upgrade the ram. I know relatively little about computer hardware, but thought i found where the RAM is. On the pictures, i've put red arrows. if i'm right, could you please confirm? additionally, if you could please explain to me what kind of RAM to buy and give any other tips you have, that'd be swell. the computer has a Pentium4 3GHz chip and only 512 MB. it is an older MPC ClientPro. thanks instructablers.

I have been trying to find a reasonably priced milling machine but also trying to find one that doesn't charge two times the price of the machine in shipping costs. I have been looking on Craigslist for the past six months and haven't seen anything. I am in Seattle, WA. Does anyone have any ideas of where I should look?

I feel stupid asking this, but, after I published my first instructable, the button to create a first instructable disappeared. I was wondering: Where did it go?

Last month I viewed my profile to see what others see, and wow, I posted over 600 comments on other peoples instructables. I just looked back at my profile last week and now it says that I only posted 89. Can anyone help?

Hello I am an exhibits designer and builder for a museum. I weld and do some machining every week. I would like to take formal classes here in Philadelphia or the surrounding area but I can not find a single program! One would think that in a major city there would be something but no luck so far. Does anyone know of a school. New Jersey would be ok too. Thank You Montrose

On the back of a computer wheres the fan
After posting my most recent "Instructable" https://www.instructables.com/id/Pro-Style-Jump-Rope/ I received a couple of comments and responded to them. Later I made a couple of edits to my instructable and the comments disappeared. Where did they go? Can they be restored?
