I have been trying to find a reasonably priced milling machine but also trying to find one that doesn't charge two times the price of the machine in shipping costs. I have been looking on Craigslist for the past six months and haven't seen anything. I am in Seattle, WA. Does anyone have any ideas of where I should look?

I feel stupid asking this, but, after I published my first instructable, the button to create a first instructable disappeared. I was wondering: Where did it go?

Hello I am an exhibits designer and builder for a museum. I weld and do some machining every week. I would like to take formal classes here in Philadelphia or the surrounding area but I can not find a single program! One would think that in a major city there would be something but no luck so far. Does anyone know of a school. New Jersey would be ok too. Thank You Montrose

I need wine corks for a project i'm working on, and have not been able to find them. I have tried asking a friend who is a caterer, no luck. I have asked other people, but no one has any. please write any suggestions that you have. I have no money, so it would be best if they where free.

Hello everyone! I have been searching the web for a good source of aluminium pipe (between 1" and 2" thick) with threaded endings and matching fittings. Can anyone suggest a good source? Searching the instructables forums I read about www.simplifiedbuilding.com, but they don't seem to have threaded fittings (only of a slip-on, use-a-set-screw kind). Any suggestion greatly appreciated! Happy '09! James

Hey folks, I've been rather absent during this amzin step in Ibles history, and I apologize. Currently I'm moving to some land a lil' ways out, and with other responsibilities in tow, I've not had the time to be flappin' my gums about here as I normally do. All should be fine by about mid August. At that time I'll be havin some pretty sweet projects, mostly in the Ride category, to be a postin' FILL ME IN THEN. Nova

I'm looking for a steel barrel/drum thing for a project I plan on doing. It's basically a pool heater, using an old car radiator and steel drum. But anyways... I have no idea where I can find one, where carries them or anything of the sort. I'm in central mass if that helps.

I need several glass tubes (10-20) that are around 30-40mm in diameter and 6 feet long. They also can't be rediculously expensive, I've been searching for a while, but all I've been able to find is glass with a length of 4 feet and a diameter of like 10mm. Any help?

Alright everybody, I have a project that requires aluminum rods that will fit together. Does anyone know of a place like mcmaster, in the sense that you can pick and choose your sizes and grades but with a quality that is not industrial? McMaster is just too expensive when looking at aluminum rods. Also, what grade of aluminum do all you DIYers find is the best for multipurpose use? All help is appreciated

Hi, i am planning on buying, and another instructables member already has, buying this wireless receiver (comes with a transmitter), for use in whatever we desire to use it for! heres lins to two images of it, i dont understand a bit of it, only i see the inputspostive and negative, and the outputs positives, but thats it , which make no sense to me. http://downloads.villageorigin.com/001540-015/Diagram%202.JPG http://downloads.villageorigin.com/001540-015/Diagram1.JPG anyway, what i know is where the positive and negative terminals are, also, the othe rmember has already tried running this using the ground terminal as the negative for the outputs, but says it does ot work at all, and that is the only thing which seems to make sense. also, this is the only thing the ebay seller could give me in regards to operating and installing this chip into anything, because they know nothing of it, and asume that the ebay users who buy it already know how to use it. anyways, there are several ports d0,d1,d2,d3 vt, vcc, and ground al the d's are the output ports, vt is called switching voltage and is assigned to an output depending on what button is pressed on the receiver, and thats all the information i have gotton. and from what i know, its inoperable, but then again, i dont know much about that stuff also, who ever shos me how this work, i promise wil get a "best answer" from me.

Does anybody know where to buy a small tank of neon for making your owns tubes and stuff (for like Tesla coils)? The only place I've found was a place in Europe, and I'm looking for something under 100$ (it was about 60 euros for a tank, which is like 140 dollars or something).

I have a design for original body armor, but I don't know where to buy it or get it built. Think of a nomex survival suit, but Dragon Skin and Kevlar for fabric covering underneath armor, 2nd layer U.S.A. brand or Japanese exoskeleton suit with titanium caseing, 3rd layer graphene and dragon skin for plates covering entire body like a full body mold but cut in pieces for flexibility. Where can I get this built or how can I build it precisely. It will last against a FN FAL. I live in McAllen Texas. I prefer professionally made, so any suggestions. I have no budget.

I know how to make the Headpiece, and the shirt. I bought fur that's white, and I'm going to make a shirt with it, and dye it using rit dye, to the right colors. I'm hoping to make this costume work... However, I'm stuck on what to do for the legs. It's scales, but what should I do for it? Also, I want to know how to make a tail, and make it so the tail can still move....

A group I'm in has set goals for this year, and one of them is to host a fashion show. We know where to host it, how to get a store to lend us clothes, how to set up the room, music etc., but we are puzzled as to what happens in a fashion show- what happens first, last etc. Any brochures from the store? Does an employee have to come out and comment? If you've ever been to one, please describe it as best as possible.

Hi, i am building an rc tank, and have decided that i want to put an electronic speed controller on the tank to control the speeds of the two motors used for both steering and driving. however, i am having difficulties finding a stepper motor i can control via remote control, ANYWHERE!!. i need to get a stepper motor, so that i may control the esc, as the only esc i can get without paying more than $30, and will work at the current i am using, needs me to turn a knob to determine the speed, that knob, i will be turned by the stepper motor. now what i have in mind is that i have two kits foir controlling the stepper motor, both i will put onto my remote controller board, so they act like a gear stick on a car, these will control the speeds the motrs go at when i use the on /off signals from the remote control to the motors. what i am asking is where can i get a kit that will wirelessly control a stepper motor, using a band that isnt 27mhz, 40mhz, or 315mhz. but the thing is i dont want aan esc that can be directly controlled by a receiver, as i also plan on using that kit for something else, as i may just decide to use it to pivot a wireless camrea that is mounted on the tank.

Hello everyone... A whhile back I stumbled upon a website that would allow you to enter in your location information and do a search based on "celestial events" "IST fly-over times" satellite locations, meteor shower events, eclipses etc... I recently bought a DSLR camera and a telescope with camera mount. My Son is very much into astronomy and I would love to encourage this for him... The telescope is nothing special, it is my, as well as his first telescope. I would like to capture photos of this up and coming eclipse in April, as well as some star systems and meteor shower events with some long exposure. :) anyway... Does anyone here know where I can find this type of calendar.. I have spent much of the morning Googling, but I am coming up short in finding this... Thanks in advance Matthew

I have been recently looking into engineering and how to build different equipment, and am wondering where people learn to do these kinds of things. The first thing I saw that had inspired me was a man who built a glove and software that replicated finger/hand movements in motion capture fashion that was useful to me because I do 3D animations which is helped by motion capture. I had built it because he had left a step-by-step tutorial on how to do so, and it worked perfectly. The thing that upset me was that I have no understanding of how these parts work, I just bought the equipment and put it together based on his instructions. So I am wanting to ask how I learn about this stuff? Things that I am wanting to learn I believe are geared around Micro controllers (EX: Arduino), MotionTracking Device's (EX: MPU-9150), Multiplexers, and other stuff that revolves around that. I have been looking for tutorials and books to help but have had no luck. Also one of the most frustrating things I faced when putting the gloves together was that I had no idea what 'SIG', 'VCC', 'GND', or any of those meant. I understand that I might sound pretty stupid, but I am genuinely interested in this am looking to learn about it, I just do not know how to. Thank you for any reply in advance.

Hi, I'm lost, and I was wondering if you could help me. I feel stuck in life, and I've decided that I'm going to put my life into action with as much vigor as possible. I've decided to start with finances and education. I've got the finances part figured out, but I have no idea on education. I'm twenty years old. I went to a technical college for Information Technology and Communications Systems, and I left after a year because I was no longer interested, I don't believe I was prepared to take the educational leap (I hindered myself), and I left for a relationship. I don't want to make that mistake again. Being a maker, what types of possibilities are out there for career paths? What type of education should I pursue? How do I make sure that what seems like a great choice doesn't turn out to be a passing fad like my past venture? I feel as if I've wasted too much time. I haven't been in high school for three years, and I have nothing to show for it. I need to get this going as soon as possible.
