It possible to connect multiple AXT PSU's in parallel or series to increase the current and/or voltage? I'm not too sure what else to say... Thanks a bunch,Mike :)?

Hang on!!! I looked on the other thread and it says that if you do you will creat a "short" across the COM and 12V is there anyway to rectify that? can you remove the earth connection so then it wont short? Am I talking Rubbish? Thanks Mike

It is, on ATX supplies, the green wire.

The old school ones did - for pro kit - like mainframes !

Well the only reason I posted it was to create more dialog on it and I didn't have any answer I was willing to put my name on. I don't like hooking power supplies together at all. I'd rather just build new or adapt one that I've already got. My ceiling is already stained with enough of the magic smoke.

Ah, what a shame we can't recycle it....

You can do it if you put a resistor in as well, but that sacifices load regulation, unless you have external sensing.;...

No problem, I understood your intent.

I'm not sure. It won't be a lethal mistake, but I'd put a caveat in if I were you. Steve

Sean too was being fairly cagey about doing this. Real, SMPSUs with external sense inputs, you might be able to parallel, but series connecting, avoid.

Probably not, because small errors in voltage will cause large circulating currents if they are in parallel, and their traces are too small to support more than their rated current if they are connected in series.
