You mean you don't Google your username periodically just to see what people are saying about you? Why, how un-vain!

heh. no. a bit afraid what I'll find (and I suspect what I'll find that isn't even me doing the talking)

Now you've got me nervous I may have stalkers or something. The only time I've ever googled people is when they're famous, like politicians or scientists and hadn't even considered...

seandogue groans quietly...

So how do you change your username around here again? ;-)

:-> You should ask LiRa about stalkers; she can probably give you some tips :-)

Well, just to close the loop, I tried your I'bles username on Google. The top six hit were within I'bles, but then there's a 2008 posting to a Cleveland newspaper.

The interesting thing about this exercise is its relationship to the Copernican principle. You can discover very quickly that you are not nearly as unique as you thought you were. For example, I am apparently an accomplished musician with a couple of albums out...

Heh, if I google my true name, I get all sorts of stuff. I'm a doctor, a lawyer, a long dead evangelical, and so on... My real name, (first and last combo), at least without the middle name, is apparently quite common among some ethnic groups.

After your post, I just DID google myself. I noticed the entry you cited as well as others. Odd...

Nothing seems to be unique anymore, although I shouldn't be surprised, in a world of 6.something billion..

Oh, LiRa was stalked...? bummer. that's bad mojo. And yes, I've been stalked in the past in online "rooms". I just dug in my heels and went to war. Not so good when it slips into real life.
